History: boom here's the wiki
Personality: In the world of Bleach, there are people called Shinigami, who escort souls to the afterlife and fight off any monsters (mostly creatures called hollows) that might attack. Sometimes these Shinigami get fake bodies, which they use to blend in with the living for whatever reason. As soon as they leave that body (they can't fight hollows while possessing a fake body), though, it falls limp and acts like a lifeless person. Obviously this wouldn't be good, since coming back to find that their 'body' has been declared dead would ruin their cover story. So, there is something called 'soul candy', which is an artificial soul that has been compressed into a small pill form. This pill is put into the fake body while the Shinigami fights the hollows, and the artificial soul pretends to be the Shinigami so that nobody notices anything is different.
Back before Bleach started, someone got an idea. See, artificial souls can be put into lots of things: dead bodies, stuffed animals, basically anything with a human-ish form. But artificial souls themselves can't really fight hollows, since they're about as strong as a normal human is. But then someone said "Well, we're already making artificial souls, so why not make artificial souls that can fight hollows?" And that was when someone invented the modified soul, called a mod-soul for short.
Mod-souls are just like regular artificial souls: they come in a soul candy form, and they're put into bodies that otherwise don't have a soul in them. The difference is that mod-souls have enhanced abilities, and because of that they can fight low-level hollows. The Shinigami themselves are still needed to fight the strong ones, but theoretically mod-souls would take out the weaker ones while the Shinigami focused on the more dangerous ones. I say 'theoretically' because the project was halted before any mod-souls could be used in battle, and the mod-souls that had been made were ordered to be destroyed. In the manga, only one mod-soul was able to avoid being destroyed: Kon.
So why is all of this listed in the personality section? Because Kon's 'birth' and subsequent order of execution (that he only escaped by accidentally being mixed in with regular artificial souls) play a huge part in what makes Kon who he is. See, Kon values every life, even down to things like ants, and he can't stand to see a life being taken. Kon himself refuses to kill, and if he can save a life, he'll do everything he can to try, even if it hurts himself. Because his own life (as well as the lives of his brothers and sisters) were treated like nothing, he hates to see anyone treated like they don't matter. To him, everyone is sacred.
Kon also doesn't like it when people are needlessly put in harm's way. Early on in the manga, Ishida summons a bunch of hollows to Karakura, the town they all live in, and tries to use them in a competition with Ichigo. Kon at one point yells at Ishida for putting so many people in danger for his own selfish reasons (with so many hollows around, Ichigo and Ishida couldn't defeat them all before some of them attacked some humans), and later on he yells at Ichigo for yelling at him first instead of at Ishida (because Kon's own slight against Ichigo was clearly less serious than Ishida putting an entire city in danger). He's also expressed dislike over his friends hurting themselves needlessly, since their lives are just as important as everyone else's.
The only exception to this has been in the case of hollows. Kon values and protects everyone, but he is still alright with fighting off hollows. This probably has something to do with the fact that hollows are corrupted souls, and the only way to purify them and let them pass on is to defeat them in battle. So in a way, it's not really killing them as much as it is saving them. This problem isn't specifically addressed in Bleach (since Kon is a side character and does not get a lot of focus), but it is probably why Kon hasn't shown unwillingness to fight hollows.
Kon also has a bit of a temper. It's very easy to get him riled up, especially if your name happens to be Ichigo. Kon is not that great at keeping his cool, so as soon as someone or something gets him worked up he starts yelling. His whole body gets involved in that yelling as well, complete with arm flailing and stomping his feet and things like that. One time, when he got very upset at a few kids (they had been talking about how worthless a pokemon-knockoff-monster was, and how they were only valuable if they were strong) and broke all their handheld video games they had with them, so he's been known to take action when he's really mad. But usually he doesn't get that angry, most of the time it's the kind of harmless, "oh they were teasing me and now I am mad and reacting" kind of anger.
Kon is terrible at hiding his emotions, so it's very easy to see what he's feeling at any given time. Most of the time, he's either annoyed at some slight against him or absolutely enamored with a pretty girl nearby, and he doesn't even try to hide either of those emotions. Especially that second one, because Kon very much so likes pretty girls. And big boobs. And girls with big boobs.
Yeah, Orihime is pretty much his favorite person ever, for obvious reasons.
Normally Kon occupies the body of a stuffed lion, and he uses this to his advantage. He'll act cute to try to get hugs from the girls, because by being hugged he is effectively smushed up against their breasts. This is just one example of how absolutely perverted Kon can be. It's also probably why Kon got a small stuffed lion body instead of a fake body, despite several members of the Bleach cast having easy access to one: his perversion is severely limited while he's stuck in a toy.
Kon has a bit of a soft spot for certain people. While he is abrasive to most everyone he meets, either coming off as 'annoying' or 'a bother,' he does act friendly towards most girls he meets. There's also a special place in his heart for both Orihime and Rukia, the latter of whom he calls 'big sis'. He's also very kind towards small kids, especially Ichigo's little sisters, Yuzu and Karin. It might be because he had to pretend to be Ichigo for so long, but somehow he grew to genuinely care about them, and he even berates Ichigo once for making Yuzu cry.
Most of the time, Kon is a joke character. He's the comic relief, the one to come in and say something ridiculous and then get punched for whatever it is he said. He's quick to anger, and he's a ball of emotions and perversion. But when a situation is serious, Kon can shape up and be somewhat reliable.
Items on your character at canon point: Because Kon's real form is a small pill, the one important 'item' he has on him is the body he's inhabiting at any given time. At the canon point I'm pulling him from, he is in Ichigo's body, rather than his usual stuffed lion one.
Along with that, he has the clothes he's wearing, and a small charm that protects him from hollows.
Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
Most of Kon's abilities are entirely dependent on the body he is possessing. As an artificial soul, he has access to all of the physical strengths of whatever body he is inhabiting (though none of the spiritual ones, since a mod-soul only takes over a body that is currently without a soul for whatever reason, and all of the fancy spirit-powers are tied to the soul, not the body). In this case, since he has Ichigo's body, he has Ichigo's physical strength and fighting talents. Since Ichigo did a fair bit of fighting even before becoming a Shinigami, Kon can fight as well.
As a mod-soul, Kon has enhanced powers. In his case, his enhancements are related to the legs. Kon's leg strength is amazing, and well beyond what any normal human could possibly have. For example, the first time he is in Ichigo's body, Kon leaps up to a third-story classroom window from ground level, and shortly after he's seen destroying metal desks with his kicks. He also jumped higher than buildings that were around five-ish stories tall, and he can run 100 meters in 3.8 seconds. In addition to that, he can fight hollows with his kicks.
Just like anyone else with spiritual powers in the Bleach world, Kon can sense the presence of people with strong powers.
For strengths outside of those abilities, Kon has one important one: his ability to mimic someone. Around friends he doesn't bother to act like anyone but himself, but when he has to, he can convincingly act like whoever he's pretending to be. He was able to pretend to be Ichigo for nearly a month once, and Ichigo's own sisters didn't realize that he wasn't Ichigo. (Ichigo's father did, but that's because he sensed that the soul in Ichigo's body wasn't Ichigo, not because Kon's act was terrible.) Additionally, when in his lion body, he can go limp and act like a normal doll, even when someone is physically hurting that body.
Kon also is just tough in general. He can take a lot of physical pain, and while he might whine about it later, at the time he can handle it without complaint if the situation calls for it. Like in his introduction chapters, a hollow nearly bites the body he's taken over in half, and he's left bleeding and injured, but he still pushes forward to try and prevent the hollow from hurting anyone. In addition to that, Kon is also emotionally strong. While he can be a bit of a crybaby at times, he can still persevere, even when a situation is tough. Even almost being killed by an impossibly strong hollow didn't break him. He can bounce back from a lot of terrible things.
Kon's main weakness is that his own, real body is a small piece of candy. While he's in another body he can be a tough opponent, but by himself he is weak and helpless. Once removed from a body, there is literally nothing he can do to stop someone from doing whatever they want with his candy form.
Additionally, he is vastly overpowered. As with many shounen series, Bleach has a problem with escalating powers and leaving the side characters in the dust, so Kon is quickly outpaced by pretty much everyone around him. By the point I'm pulling him from, he doesn't even fight hollows anymore, his primary job (besides comic relief) is to pretend to be Ichigo while Ichigo is out fighting the bad guys. He just hit his limits far too soon, and he can't get any stronger.

Prose Log Sample:Of all the things on Kon's official list of "things Kon Does Not Like (2009 edition)", school had to be up near the top. Definitely not the first, that was reserved for 'needless death,' and the second spot was reserved for Ichigo (who admittedly bounced around on the list, depending on Kon's mood at any given time, but he still kept spot number two open just for him). But school was probably in the top five, and definitely in the top ten.
Admittedly, it wasn’t the school itself that was the problem. School was full of hot babes, and Kon was all too willing to chat them up whenever he could. The problem was that Kon only ever participated in school when he was pretending to be Ichigo, and pretending to be Ichigo came with certain requirements. Namely, that if Kon couldn't keep up the Ichigo-act and fool everyone, then he wouldn't be allowed to take over Ichigo's body when a hollowed appeared during school hours.
For the most part, it was an acceptable deal. Kon had been mimicking Ichigo on and off for months now, so he had gotten pretty good at it. The only people he couldn't fool were those who could sense souls, since Kon's soul was obviously very different from Ichigo's. But for all his acting, and for as well as he could scowl and scoff at everything ever and play up the 'tough guy' act, there was one part of Ichigo that Kon could not mimic, and that one part was what made school miserable.
Ichigo was smart. Very smart. So smart that he could miss half his classes and still get acceptable grades. Kon was…not quite at Ichigo's level, to put it gently.
To be fair, it wasn't really Kon's fault. It wasn't like pre-calc was that important to most people in Soul Society, and Kon had only been made with the basic knowledge he would need to function as an artificial soul. And it wasn't like Kon didn't make an effort at all either. When he absolutely had to, Kon really did try to learn stuff; Ichigo relied on his notes sometimes, so Kon tried to at least get that part right.
He didn't seem to appreciate all the doodles Kon made in the margins, though. Apparently Ichigo did not appreciate the 'five-minute babe in a mini-skirt' drawings that Kon had perfected over the last four months. Maybe he would like it better if Kon drew Orihime and Rukia instead of 'generic blonde babe'.
The problem was that sometimes hollows were very very rude and decided to attack helpless people in the middle of a math test. And sometimes, it was during math tests over inverse derivatives or some shit like that, things Kon had only half-learned via taking notes for Ichigo, and suddenly Kon was expected to at least get a handful of the remaining questions right so that Ichigo didn't bomb the test. But there was only so much Kon could do when he literally did not know the answer, and he was pretty sure that getting caught cheating would be a thousand times worse than failing honestly.
Honestly, Kon didn't care so much about the test as he did about not getting horribly beaten later. He knew that the wrath of Ichigo would be upon him if he screwed up, and even thinking about it made him want to cry.
Kon glanced out the window for the fifth time in as many minutes. It was hot out, so the windows were all propped open, to let a breeze in. Maybe Kon could pretend to go insane and jump out, so that Ichigo could retake the test later and not get a failing grade. It wasn't like he would die or anything, Kon's legs were extra-strong, so he could make it down three stories without even straining a muscle. But if he did that, would people figure out that he wasn't actually Ichigo? Ichigo wasn't the type of person to just give up and jump out a window like that. If nothing else, that karate chick—Tatsuki was her name, maybe—she would start to realize it. She was already suspicious of Kon, and jumping out a window wouldn't help.
Giving up on that idea, Kon sighed and leaned forward, so that his chin was resting on the desk. This was hopeless, he couldn't pass this test. Ichigo was going to kick his ass later. And then everyone at the house would find out that Ichigo had failed a test and Yuzu would get so worried about him and it would be Kon's fault that Yuzu got upset. It really was terrible.
…maybe he could use this all to get sympathy hugs from Orihime later and bury himself in her sweet, sweet chest. Just the thought of it brought a perverted smile to Kon's face.
